INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Print the pattern onto the paper of your choice. A slightly stiffer paper that will still work in your printer is best for this project. Also, the back of the paper will be visible in this project.

Read the pattern key included in the General Instructions.

Step 2

Cut out the six pieces by cutting on the black lines around the edge of each pattern piece.

STEP 3

On each pattern piece, fold the green lines around the edge of the square (between the square and the glue flaps) as valley folds. For the three pattern pieces with a red line at one corner of the square, fold this line as a mountain fold.

Step 4

Now on each pattern piece, cut on all the black lines which are inside the square. To do this, first cut the two black lines which go the the edge of the square; and then all the other black lines can be cut by starting from these first two cuts.

Step 5

On each of the six pattern pieces, fold the small red and green lines through the center of the square by rotating the L-shaped pieces inside the square by 90 degrees in and out while folding, as shown on Photos 4 and 5. Red line are mountain folds and green lines are valley folds. The white area between each red and green line should remain unfolded.

Step 6

Find the two pattern pieces with the Glue Flaps labelled E and F and connect them together by gluing Flap E on the first piece to Flap E on the second piece and by gluing Flap F on the first piece to Flap F on the second piece.

Step 7

Connect two more pieces to make four sides of a cube as shown in Photos 7 and 8. To do this, glue Flap J to the other Flap J, Flap K to the other Flap K, Flap N to the other Flap N, Flap P to the other Flap P, Flap A to the other Flap A, and Flab B to the other Flap B.

Step 8

Complete the project by attaching the remaining two pattern pieces as the top and bottom of the cube. Attach the top by gluing Flaps R, S, L, M, C, D, G, and H on the top to the similarly labeled glue flaps on the assembled project. Attach the bottom by gluing Flaps Q, Z, X, Y, T, U, V, and W on the bottom to the similarly labeled glue flaps on the assembled project. The three rounded pieces which are folded back at one corner of the cube form the stand for the project.
